Virtues On The Night Of The Mid-Syaban

1.Allah looks at His servants

ليلة النصف من شعبان هي ليلة مباركة، قد ثبت فضلها بما جاء عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال: «يَطَّلِعُ الله عز وجل إلى خلقه لَيْلَةَ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَيَغْفِرُ لعباده: إِلَّا لاثنين: مُشَاحِنٍ، وقاتلِ نفس» رواه أحمد في مسنده عن عبدالله بن عمرو (٦٦٤٢)

The night of the middle of Syaaban is a blessed night. Its virtue has been established by what has been reported from the Prophet ﷺ, who said:

“Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, looks at His creation on the night of the middle of Syaaban and forgives His servants—except for two: one who harbours enmity, and a killer.”

Narrated by Ahmad in his Musnad from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr

2.Allah forgives the believers

 وجاء في رواية أبي ثعلبة، أن النبي ﷺ قال: «يطلع الله على عباده ليلة النصف من شعبان فيغفر للمؤمنين ويمهل الكافرين، ويدع أهل الحقد بحقدهم حتى يدعوه». أخرجه الطبراني في المعجم الكبير 

And in the narration of Abu Tha‘labah, the Prophet ﷺ said:

“Allah looks upon His servants on the night of the middle of Syaaban; He forgives the believers, grants respite to the disbelievers, and leaves the people of malice with their malice until they abandon it.”

Reported by al-Ṭabarani in al-Mu‘jam al-Kabir.

3.The Night that supplication is not rejected

وهي من الليالي التي يستجاب فيها الدعاء:

عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال: "خمس ليال لا يرد فيهن الدعاء: ليلة الجمعة، وأول ليلة من رجب، وليلة النصف من شعبان، وليلتي العيدين". شعب الإيمان للبيهقي، وذكره الإمام الشافعي في كتابه الأم (١/٢٦٤)

Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported:

“There are five nights in which supplication is not rejected: the night of Friday, the first night of Rajab, the night of the middle of Syaaban, and the two nights of the two Eids.”

Narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Shuʿab al-Iman, and mentioned by Imam al-Syafiʿi in his book al-Umm (1/264).

4.Allah decrees the destinies

وروى أبو الضحى عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما: أن الله يقضي الأقضية في ليلة النصف من شعبان، ويسلمها إلى أربابها في ليلة القدر"  لخصها من تفسير البغوي ”معالم التنزيل“

Abu al-Ḍuḥa narrated from Ibn ʿAbbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that:

“Allah decrees the destinies on the night of the middle of Syaaban, and hands them over to those entrusted with them on the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr).” Summarize it from Al-Baghawi's Tafsir “Ma'alim al-Tanzil”.
